On Sunday I headed over to BrandCinema for the read through of a new project I was cast in, "Montauk Boys." It's currently a webseries but also a trans-media event, with lots of possible supplemental content. It was so inspirational to be in a room with 9 actors and a creative team who were all incredibly jazzed about the project. I can't wait to get started!
What a weekend!! On Saturday I got to shoot interstitial sketches for a new Comedy Pilot aimed at the NYTVF helmed by Ryan Darden. I played a nurse who might not be seeing her boss too clearly... he looks pretty good in this picture though, right?? Hey, this is the coolest room ever. Thanks to Geoff Grimwood for grabbing this photo! On Wed April 17 I got to join Hannah Pearl Utt and Jen Tullock for the table read of their new feature, Stupid/Happy. I played one of the four leads, a cute little teenage lesbian badass. The screenplay was majorly funny, and the invited audience's laughter confirmed my assessment. Oh man, I can't wait for them to make this film!! A fun surprise was when I showed up, my THEM teammate Geoff Grimwood was there, reading a slew of little roles--hilarious as always. Buddies! Frederick V. Nielsen II at Feather Rock Pictures (unretouched) The week before I did a shoot with Frederick V. Nielsen II at Feather Rock Pictures (<-- Like them on Facebook if you get a moment!). It was particularly neato because we shot together a few years ago-- one of my first shoots in NYC and one of his first getting started as a photographer. Now he has his own studio!! We haven't selected our finals yet but here's a sneak peek preview shot: And one more thing... I got to play in the band for "Welcome to Hell" at The PIT, B.J. Thorne's Late Nite Talk Show that takes place in Hell. As far as the gender breakdown of the band, I was holdin' it down for the chicks. Please enjoy this picture as much as I do. :)
Jenna Panther and Jessica Watkins. PHOTO CREDIT: Jason Donovan Hall On Monday, April 1, my short play "Winner" was performed at aMios Theatre Company's Shotz. This month the pieces had to have no spoken dialogue. This piece is a high-energy look at the relationship between the winners and the underdogs of the world... through the lens of race between high school students. What fun! I got to collaborate on direction with Liz Thaler, and our 3 actors Jenna Panther, Chris Raddatz, and Jessica Watkins ROCKED it! YEAH. CUZ I'M MATHEMATICAL LIKE THAT!
